1. How long does the process take?
The process to convert your LLC into a Florida LLC typically takes anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks.
2. Why is my state not in the drop-down menu?
In order to perform a statutory conversion, the Florida Statute requires that both state pass legislation that allows the LLC in the home state to convert to an LLC in a foreign jurisdiction, such as Florida. So if your state is not listed in our conversion list, then your LLC will need to use a different method to relocate the entity to the State of Florida. 3. Once I Convert my LLC to the State of Florida will it keep the same EIN number?
Yes, your newly converted Florida LLC will have the same EIN number, credit, and bank account, in addition to retaining its contractual and property rights. The only thing you will need to do after the conversion is update your principal place of business with your vendors, bank institutions, and the IRS.
4. What are the benefits of converting to the State of Florida?
You will no longer have to pay taxes or fees in the home state of your LLC (unless you continue to do business there). Florida is a pro-employer state and has strong liability and asset protection. Pass-through entities pay zero income taxes in the State of Florida. Florida is also one of the fastest-growing states in the United States.
